Well the company is based in Raamsdonksveer which is in Brabant but, if my wiki-walking didn't mislead me, used to be part of Holland until fairly recently - 1815 or so. Could be good enough to go with "Vliegende Hollander" o

Bitwarden only ever decrypts the password database on the client, and the login credentials you send to the server are only a hash of your actual encryption key. In principle, you could store your Bitwarden database on a public torrent at n

If you control the services, make them read from user-writable files instead of root ones. (Ideally you could skip the middleman and just read from env vars directly!) If you don't control the services, maybe in the Dockerfile you coul

For many popular images, you can use a major-version tag and fetch the latest patch but avoid breaking changes. Eg. postgres:12 instead of either postgres:latest or postgres:12.0.1

That thought experiment sounds off to me. What does "paying to invent" mean, exactly? Presumably the employer wouldn't be happy if the designer simply had a bunch of nice design ideas and kept it in his or her head. Instead,

YAML anchors allow a basic level of reorganization and DRY within your file, not unlike functions in code. I'm sure that some people will scoff and point to anchors as exactly the kind of complexity a configuration format shouldn'

You say "no, not docker" but once you wish for "one directory/executable with everything I need to run it" you're halfway to containers already. Why not just go with Docker?

Same. I blocked the auto-update for Firefox as soon as I saw that the feature hadn't landed in stable. I hope some other browser picks it up. Would probably be a good fit for Vivaldi, which is meant for power-users who might go through

Databases can usually be exported as, and rebuilt from, some kind of plain text format - be it CSVs, JSON, DDL+DML scripts. Of course it's less efficient than using the vendor's native dumps. But it's still important that the
