If it were only Apple's restrictions preventing this, why wouldn't Facebook release such a browser on Android?

Kinda nitpicky. Sure ADTs are a pattern in Typescript rather than a first-class entity, but they're an extremely well-supported pattern, exhaustiveness checking and all. type ADT = | { case : 'a', a : Number }

The two approaches can be combined! You can use AES to generate and store the ExternalId column. As you pointed out, this saves you from having to encrypt/decrypt it on the fly every time, at the cost of an extra lookup and some storag

Didn't Samsung use to sell a docking station for phones? Whatever happened to it? With so much applications moving to the web (eg. gitpod), even an Android phone would make for a suitable desktop.

Maybe they believe, rightly or wrongly, that the lower cost of labour is their strongest asset in getting hired by a Western company. If their salary were raised to SV levels, sure, they might go from "well-off" to "fabulousl

Same boat as you - only buying notch-free, de-googlable phones. I'm still happy with my POCO F2 Pro, but if I were to lose it right now I think I would import a Mi Mix 4. Under-display selfie camera is a little downgrade from the pop-u

So it's more compact in your pocket, which is where space is most at a premium. Tallness doesn't make phones uncomfortable to hold (width does), it just makes them poke out of your pockets.

I imagine the GNU answer would be that you shouldn't run hostile / nonfree software on your machines, and you should simply be able to tell your software not to contact undesired servers (via configuration or, worst case scenario,
