Under the hood, what's happening is that the physical layer is reporting that a packet failed to decode, and the link layer is attempting retransmission at a series of lower and lower fallback rates. It's designed this way becaus

Race to the bottom is one thing. Yes, so-called “TCP unfriendly” protocols will muscle out any protocol that reacts to probability p random packet drops by a one-over-root-p reduction in throughput. But that does NOT mean that BBR will fa

A system of particles in thermal equilibrium will contain a small fraction whose kinetic energy exceeds the average by a factor of 10. Also, the energy available in the center-of-mass frame of two colliding particles is higher if they happ

Once it gets within a few tens of megameters, pulsed radar systems could easily distinguish an incoming projectile thanks to the 2.4 second round-trip-time to the moon. Metallic objects have ideal visibility. If you are concerned about so

Speaking somewhat loosely, the relationship between the local state of spacetime and its energy, the Lagrangian density, does not seem to depend on where you are or when you are. Emmy Noether gave us a straightforward proof that each such

Baseline (most robust, up to 10 m range) configuration is 562.5 bps. Tops out at 3 Kbps under ideal conditions (maybe 30 cm range).

I've been working on something similar[1] for a few years. Don't forget that you can use tun/tap devices to avoid re-implementing TCP/IP, and to gain interoperability with OS services! [1] https://github.com&

GP is correct-- the neutron degeneracy pressure prevents the stellar remnant from getting any smaller, but it is the electron degeneracy pressure which makes beta decay energetically unfavorable. In order to be produced by neutron beta dec

Sorry, but no. There are far more files with a given hash than just the one, if the file is longer than the hash. And having multiple hashes doesn't help until the hashes exceed the length of the file.
