There’s very rarely any where you can actually interact with the running program. At best you can usually load in a method and poke it, but that’s not the same.

If it’s anything like REBL (and it looks like it) it’s complimentary to a repl. Think it it as a visual data browser, which is something that a repl isn’t good for

You’re caught up in your interpretation and that’s stopping you from entertaining what I’m saying. Scanning, segmenting, and projecting objects and people into a virtual representation is part of metas vision for the metaverse. An example i

That’s a very narrow interpretation of metaverse that meta doesn’t share. There can absolutely be AR in the metaverses. Check out some of marketing materials for visions of what that would look like

The quest pro is more tech preview and dev platform than actual consumer product. Meta is planning to release their quest 3 this year, which is supposed to be a lot cheaper

I don’t think that’s correct and you’re reading too much into popular blog posts (“we tried typescript and decided it wasn’t for us” doesn’t make for a good article). I don’t have any hard data either, but since we’re swapping anecdotes it’

I don’t buy it. Static languages have certainly become more ergonomic, but if the evidence was really so overwhelmingly clear, everybody would have switched by now. To wit, regarding your comment about Rust, I just read this article earlier

Yes that’s why everybody collectively moved on to static types exclusively 30 years ago and we all lived happily ever after because there was never a point where dynamic typing made more sense or was anything but inferior. The end.
