The original Arduinos were AVR, but many of the modern ones and clones are indeed ARM, it's just well hidden via the IDE.

Not Bluetooth, but tempting to give this idea a try using a sub-$1 microcontroller [0] implementing a software-defined radio with a PCB trace antenna which is powered from the kinetic energy when you actually hit the key. [0] https:/&

Digital IDs should always be in addition to physical IDs, even if you just leave the latter at home most of the time. My philosophy if buying a "smart" device is that they must "fail dumb"... I won't buy a smart loc

Same in Australia, at least in my state of NSW. You use either a PIN or FaceID to log in to the app, and it provides the above as well as our covid QR logins for contact tracing.

Um, I just did the same thing the GP did (buy up all the stock) for a product in development but one of our older products is getting hit by the same issue described by the parent!

I'm wondering what's the smallest possible fossil fuel _generator_ you could make, you could effectively make an ebike "hybrid" and it could be way more efficient since you can just run the engine at optimum speed consta

Probably because of the sexual content. IIRC Animal Farm was suggested to us, but not 1984.

Bottles sit on the store shelf and have a use-by date of often a year in the future. I figure if there is going to be leeching, it's not going to be significant enough in a day or two. Just to be careful though, even with my 'prop

Reminds me of the time we were trying to bring up a new PCB with a handful of I2C devices and it just would not work. I'd done the driver for one device, and my colleague for another. Too far longer than it should have to work out that

I would be a buyer too. I suspect the only reason it hasn't happened is that it would mean less revenue... why would I buy a laptop/desktop AND a phone then? This rumour about Apple sticking one of their SoCs in a monitor [0] popp

Any idea where the block lies? I feel like I love trig and just don't get enough opportunities to use it, so am happy to have a conversation about it.

> The [first] generation of gamers never really stopped I get that this was an off-the-cuff statement, but worth digging into. Video gaming has morphed so much. I used to game through the night (Quake through Starcraft, Civ, Diablo, etc)

It's not perfect, but the macOS way of creating "bundles"; where a directory looks like a single file if it has a particular extension is 99% of the way there. The average user double-clicks and it opens in the relevant app.

IANA GPU expert, but AFAIK modern GPUs are pretty much are that already: massively parallel general-purpose CPUs. It's the GPU driver layer that takes either the compute or graphics instructions and converts them into the particular in

You might like 'Kong in Concert', which is a series of arrangements using the DKCountry soundtrack. I was hooked on it back when it came out, apparently 17 years ago. Way to make me feel old. https://dkcproject.ocremix.

My great-great-grandfather in the late 1800s got a land grant. I'm trying to work out how he got the farm started, because apparently he used to catch the train from his labourer job in the bit city, then walk 70km to his land.

It is a good insight indeed. As a fan of Henry George, I think the greatest trick pulled in economics was rentiers successfully getting Smith's concepts of capital and rent to be lumped together as "capital".

Sure, I can work it out, and I do use F when talking to friends from the USA. My only point was that I deal with hex numbers all day, so they're more intuitive to me than Fahrenheit is.
