I can't think of a reliable way to filter out "malicious" code without also having many false positives. Without having seen their solution, I feel that the browser is the wrong place to fix this kind of problem anyway. Much like PHP tried

Primer is one of my all time favorite movies. I had goose bumps watching it the first time. The linked timeline from the article is actually pretty "easy" to read and really helped me understand what I've just seen. Just watch the movie bef

This seems to be heavily depended on the file types you use. I have some experiments with many different, short, sound files running with <audio> just fine - in Chrome, FF and Opera at least. Ogg Vorbis and (of course WAV) works qui

Many of the Windows fonts have some special "Font Hinting" built in, which specifies how to exactly render the font in small sizes. This is important for systems, where there is no automatic Anti Aliasing in place. http://en.wikipedia.org/

This article is a waste of time, imho. All it says is "this one font looks bad on my (not specified) system, in my (not specified) browser." It compares three completely different fonts - one of which is professionally crafted, whereas the

This demo seems to do just that: http://acko.net/files/audiosynth/index.html Edit: It's not exactly as "dynamic" as I thought. The different samples are generated once and then played in a loop. So the audio data is not generated in real

No. They aren't "abandonware" either, as many of them can still be bought for the Wii's virtual console. The Emulator is pretty impressive, though. Especially the sound emulation/output - iirc the JavaScript Audio API has no "direct" way to

Very cool technology demo, but I can't think of any scenario where you'd actually need this "realtimeness". I'm constantly annoyed by the 24h you have to wait for google analytics, though.

The array.join vs. string concat tip is bogus. Might have been true some years ago, but joining an array is only marginally faster in Firefox and even slower in Chrome than concatenating strings: http://www.phoboslab.org/crap/jsarrayconcat

Putting these small images together into one file is a good way to speed up the load times of the page. However, I think the the CSS file would have been smaller with the icons as PNGs in a data URI or by using a single CSS-Sprite. You woul

I did something similar some years ago. It works a bit like playing a simple version of Tetris: http://www.phoboslab.org/files/grid-solver/demo/ I have to admit though that masonry looks much more flexible. My solution was specifically cr

Is this first code snippet, where the HTTP parser checks for "POST" or "COPY" real? It certainly reads like a joke on how not to optimize your code. Also, wouldn't it be faster to check all four characters at once with a 32bit compare? And

Huh? The article makes no sense at all. I mean WTF?: "But something was troubling me with this number. In color theory the thing doesn’t work like that. In order something to be complete red + green + blue should be 255. But in this case we
