Normally in a group setting you probably don't want to go much further than that so if that comment with the right intonation (assertive not aggressive) doesn't work then you've got a bigger issue. At this point I'd look

There's no right answer to this problem as all the nuances are situational. It's difficult to assess the situation without understanding the context but the first question I'd have is are you one "hop" from the ceo

To me this comes down to long term priorities. It's easy to lose focus on a side project if it's just a side project. The discipline required to maintain a side project for most people is really difficult. What's the priority

Quite simply, The saas model is a much easier support model and for that reason and that reason alone I'd vote for it. All code lives on machines and infrastructure you control and there's tremendous power that comes from that par

Yeh always wondered about that. There are a few 24 hour gas stations in Dublin, Ireland that give discounts to on duty officers so it attracts them to be there through their night shift to reduce robberies. But as you said, if they're

Typically, the reason that happens with external recruiters (i.e. those folks who are not employed directly for the company you're talking to), is because the initial engagement is often "anonymized" with the employer. As a r

I agree that hijacking 127.0.0.1 is not a good idea, but don't see any issues with picking something else in 127.0.0.0/8? In fact it seems like a perfect use-case for that

Why is that only a problem if you start a sentence with 'Yes' ? Cynics always have scapegoats. It's always everyone else's fault. Dumb colleagues, idiotic managers, stupid customers. Just remember you control your situat
