If we "assume good intent", what if this is akin to overclocking in the computer world? Yes, the motors can physically do it, but it increases drivetrain warranty repairs 15%. At that point, this seems like simple hedging "Su

Ads teams, sales teams, partnership teams - how many engineers did they have is the more salient question. But still, you can't compare apples to oranges.

Chats have a finite upper limit of participants, some accounts on Twitter have 100m+ followers. Storage is limited to buffer of not yet delivered messages, and avatars/stories. They are entirely different technological challenges.

Not really any more - crypto crash, plus ETH moving to PoS means no real use mining anything, and sane GPU prices for gamers.

The tumble dryers in my halls of residence were meant to take 20p (oh, those were the days, it's probably a quid now), but if you put in a 1p slowly and kept turning the handle it would trick it.

It's most likely that the Telco Director was lying out of his posterior, trying to scare Twitter into doing what they wanted with vague threats of "your competitor will get this money otherwise". It's called a bluff.

I quite like the idea of the education angle - taking your history class through a faithfully recreated Rome, or watching a re-enactment of a famous battle. Seems like a pretty engaging way to absorb information. The product design angle al

So glad this just isn't a thing in the UK. Yes, services are contended (1/32 on my FTTP), so if everyone goes full beans the whole time it would slow down, but I never have issues, even at busy times on my 900/100 plan. Turns

From the last week, I think it would be more apt for Musk to be shooting his own foot, and then exclaiming "Why would the activists do that?"

If you read his writings, he says this because he's financially stable and doesn't need the income at the moment - he was working because he wanted to. That IS a privileged position to be in, but he accepts that.

I mean, that's just a more advanced version of storage heaters in the UK that "charge" on Economy 7 tarrif (late evening and overnight, cheaper per kwh) then radiate heat the next day.

It's a fair question, and shows that a lot of these sites are like icebergs - they look simple until you delve beneath the surface. How are you detecting human trafficing and reporting it (FOSTA-SESTA)? How are you detecting CSAM and r

The Town Square metaphor is equally strained. If you act like an objectionable fool you'll soon be chased out of it.

Agree with this. I had my house wired up with 30 Cat 6 drops (3 being in-ceiling for AP's) and in the end it was simpler to go up to the loft (2 story house) and come down that way, with all of the cables then being bundled up and comi

Sounds like Adobe decided they could save some $$$ and make a bigger profit not renewing the Pantone license, and instead force people to pay extra, and cream a % off the top of those monthly fees.

Also have a pair of 1210's I've had now for 22 years - they still work as good as the day I first took them out of the box, even though they've been dragged all over the place. If looked after, they're almost bomb-proof.

No need for a beefy GPU - Intel QuickSync on 9th gen is fine - I'm running a Core i3 9100T (25W) part that can take anything I throw at it. In-house it doesn't do any transcoding to the TV's, only to mobile devices and off-ne
