I have a Tesla with HW3 and FSD is an absolute dangerous joke. It nearly pulled me into a curb on its first attempt to enter a freeway. Also, I think it keeps getting overlooked that freeways are designed from the ground up as a exclusive u

Shoutout to Michael Crosby, the person in this video, who was instrumental in getting Open Containers ( https://opencontainers.org ) to v1.0. He was a steady and calm force through a very rocky process.

Why do you see it as unsafe if a caretaker fully manages what content is viewable? For example, like this: https://abparenting.substack.com/p/effective-youtube-kids

I love this idea. There are some weird things showing up on Aliexpress but are limited in various ways: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bODiZ5bP84 It does seem like emulation is the way.

I have been thinking about this problem of "digital curation" quite a bit in the last few months. This is the core thesis: The role of children's teachers and caretakers in curating an environment for children to learn and gr

The only solution I have found is using YouTube kids (and now Pinchflat) and only allow approved content. I wrote a blog post about it here: https://abparenting.substack.com/p/effective-youtube-kids

I really like the user namespace handling `--user-ns=keep-id`. It makes it easy for me to create a new Linux user and then have that user run some container and have bind mounts, etc just work correctly. It is the least fuss way I have foun

I love the books, I have read them all to my kids, and I agree that I think the article takes its thesis too far. The books are strange tales. They have dark undertones. And sometimes the adults take actions that only someone with life expe
