Exactly, you should really think about when and if you need IoC, just like with any other technique. It can be really useful. Unfortunately, if misused, it can lead to an absolute nightmare. The problem is that when people learn about new t

This would seem to be a pretty important point missed completely by the article. Do you know a better article we could read?

Well done and looks good! One thing I would add - I noticed a few clumsy typos in the slides and in the title of this very post. Please do proof-read your copy before you publish for your app. It probably doesn't matter as much here, but I

We could add the most common mirror sites as exceptions, you could add your own, and of course you can always toggle it on and off? I think that may make it useful enough...

Unfortunately, the only thing standard users are going to remember is "Java is bad". I've already had friends asking me about this and saying, "isn't it going to ruin my entire online experience to disable Java?". "No, that's JavaScript, di

The best advice I ever had was: do something physical, something mental, and something spiritual every day. For the physical, that can be as much as walking the dog at night or taking a brisk walk at lunch. For the mental, you probably alre

Thanks for the pointers to OllyDbg and IDA Pro - I'd never heard of them. Embarassingly, it's been quite a few years since I tried actually hacking a program; especially since I'm posting on " Hacker News".

Maybe there's a lesson in this for us: if you can tie your marketing to current events then you'll get greater recognition. I'm no marketing guy, so I bet this is pretty much marketing 101 and I'm probably quoting the already-well-understoo
