This looks really interesting. If I build an app with this do I have to use your REST web api, or can I download the results of my expert system creation somehow and integrate it into my app, making it entirely off line?

Agreed! Personally I feel that since he writes and maintains it himself he can be as argumentative as he likes. It's not like he's the first - check out Linus Torvalds for the canonical abrasive open source guy. And they're r

That up-down-up-up-down whilst keeping the hand moving sets up different rythms and is an important skill. Especially if you're trying to learn a particular song - which will sound totally different if you get that wrong. Of course,

What I find more interesting about this, besides the fact you can block your kids' phones, is the amount of effort put into the creation and marketing of it. I mean - as far as I can tell [0] this is the only app this person has done,

Yes this always got me about the, "free as in free speech, not as in free beer" argument. Ok, so technically it's only, "free as in free speech" but in practicality it's also, "free as in free beer".

Surely it's not copyright infringement unless you claim you wrote it yourself? Like, you could buy a book, tear the pages out of it and send that.

As far as I'm aware, Project Euler doesn't make any actual money, so you have to give the team behind it a lot of kudos for actually taking the time to get it back up and running. Must have been really tempting to just sack it off

So in which situations would you buy something? Not trying to be snarky or anything, I know yours is a common opinion so I'm just wondering what would be a less offensive way to test the waters? Perhaps - do the conversation, leave s

I use TeamViewer for that, AND Chrome Remote Desktop. I've found that I need both so that if TeamViewer doesn't work for some reason I've still got Chrome available to go in and fix it... Hardly the best setup but at least it

I assume you're referring to the fact that it's just a "made up" church? [1] Some of the most fanatical church go-ers that I know of are C of E. Of course, that could be my limited experience. I can see how in the US it

So this is essentially a free 12 month trial? The problem with that is I don't want to sign up today because the trial will start from the day I sign up. So if I had something ready to go today that would be fine but I don't - and

What an obscure load of tosh. I might as well say that all the maths-nerds don't really know how to program because they don't understand design patterns properly, as evidenced by them hating on it all the time. But of course, I w

The problem is you would need to repeat this experiment every day for 8 months - and even then that's not enough data for a new parent to be confident. It only needs to go wrong once remember. You're playing the odds. Some child
