Can we not just finally have a normal, boring, standard eink laptop? I've been waiting years for this, but all we got are broken promises, over-engineered weirdnesses like this one and dozens of tablets. I might buy this rotatable one

AHK_X11 is AutoHotkey for Linux and it does not yet support Wayland, but it's definitely possible https://github.com/phil294/AHK_X11/issues/2 (see also: ydotool)

I really don't understand why people buy Kobo. I bought a Pocketbook from 2007. It still works perfectly and does not need software updates (nor does it have internet). Transferring books or PDFs is as easy as plugging the device into

yes, after that, the chosen letter location should immediately automatically be clicked. It's optimized for Linux, but the Windows version should work the same. Maybe I missed something? I'll fix the latter tomorrow if so.

Hi HN, this is an AutoHotkey script for Linux/Windows that works like the basics of Vimium [1], but everywhere. This means that upon pressing F, you'll see keyboard-activatable hints for all interactive elements on the current win

I'm also using Librewolf, and I have no issues using Firefox translate. I must have changed several settings over time, including about:config flags, but apparently it definitely is possible. Apart from that, I assume it's quite d

I have recently learned to use it to create an AutoHotkey for Linux implementation ( https://github.com/phil294/AHK_X11 ), and it's been a delightful experience. If you like programming in Go and Ruby syntax, this w

Awesome! I like this a lot. Recently, I've been attempting to create a global user style sheet that applies a reasonable set of nicely accessible rules to every website, essentially forcing buttons to look and behave like buttons, and

Hope you don't mind the self-promo: Here's a GH project of mine which attempts to provide styles for popular websites to remove large paddings and max-widths: https://github.com/phil294/density-userstyle

I think this is a valid point. For example, I have always wondered why default browser styles don't at least adjust to the OS's theme - be it Metro, Material, Qt, Gtk, whatever. It would solve a lot of issues for bare-bones websit

Yes it's awesome and works on both platforms. But these are two different, independent runtimes both highly dependent on their target systems, so there can be no cross-os binary. For that, maybe ahkx [1] (abandonware) could be feasible

It's a simple and valid question, but I'm afraid the answer is rather nuanced. Most things you do with AHK are also possible on Linux in general, but in a much more fragmented way. AHK (in its complete form) unifies most functiona

hm but can't you do the same thing (gzipping) with the db itself? Edit. Regardless of if you maybe even meant that, I made a small test too: A 42 MB db zipped is 8.8M, but its sql dump zipped is 4.9M, so almost half the size. Pretty go

Thanks for your input. Yes, but I don't really know how to fix it. I mean we could add a guideline for future rules (and update the existing ones) to always use `max-width 45em` or the like for text instead of `100%`, whenever possible

This seems great, also in performance, but why would you use this over making plain file copy-based backups, since SQLite is single file based? I'd assume this solution might be preferable because it saves deltas instead of absolute, b

Hello, imo the trend of websites adding more spacing (padding) as the years go by is annoying, so I decided to do something about it. I hope this to become a manually curated, collaborative effort, but so far the 500 lines CSS are for GitHu
