Nice! I’ll be honest, it’s not worth it. I’m just at the point of “if I can’t do it more easily with the remote, I’ll settle with doing it frustratingly with the remote”. I could probably get my Bluetooth keyboard paired up to the tv, but h

I can’t stand TV keyboard input, it’s wildly frustrating. I’d be happy even with “abc” style, T9 would be even better ofc. I can kind of understand how we got here - a fractured system of various vendors, TV makers, and customized android i

Found it! For reference, I originally heard this in the Some More News episodes about “Uncomplicating the complicated situation in the West Bank”, but I can’t find those episodes at the moment. > As far back as December 2012, Mr. Netanya

We should’ve woken up when GOP reps spent the _4th of July_ in _freaking Russia_. I don’t care much to draw lines between republicans and democrats when it comes to “who’s grifting America today?”, but it baffles me that these politicians r

I get the same experience on iOS using the OS web view - my guess is because iOS (and maybe android?) don’t typically play videos in “windowed mode” (for lack of a better term) outside of eg Google video snippets which seem to do some hacky

I loved my TouchPad, was super stoked to get one through a friend of a friend who bought two. It had the feel of “this just needs a little polish”, what I would expect for any new to market device with zero prior ecosystem. I was heads down

I really appreciated my brief experience with a Lumia - snappy UI, built in radio tuner, and a handful of apps. Not only was the UI responsive, it moved and flowed in a way that made it a joy to interact with. I’d say iPhone is the closest

Maybe or maybe not, but someone with nothing better to do than monitor that page out of boredom might “get on the horn” with lots of people to complain if a green check mark turns to a red X.

Sure, and you could argue that we haven’t actually tried communism, or that US democracy is so gerrymandered and neutered (eg Citizens United), etc about any political system. I don’t think we’d be where we are in the US if we had a “pure”

Funny, I always called it “the GTA effect” as in either Grand Theft Auto 1 or 2, one of the top-down ones, once you got a particular kind of car you would see more of that same car on the road. I don’t know if it was an optimization strateg

I remember learning XML and XSLT from library books in the late 90’s and found it interesting, but couldn’t find a use for it - I wasn’t really handling data in any meaningful way back then, it was all just hobby learning, but in the decade
