No true, I travel to the UK very often and I only show my ID, which works as a passport inside EU countries.

It's already happening in some way, lots of people I know refuse to travel to US because of so many horror border stories. In Europe everything is so much simpler. If you are inside UE all you need to show is your ID card and your are set.

Never saw so much jealousy/flaming targeting one person here on HN. I got to say I'm a little disappointed as member of this community. I'm pretty sure Google didn't hired him just for his pretty eyes or the 'cool' factor. Specially when 99

I feel bad for Kevin Rose, I used to lookup for him as a role model in the entrepreneurial and startup world a few years ago. However, I think the only good thing he did recently was the Foundation podcast, and even that seems to be dying.

How come Oink didn't got any traction, even with all the publicity they did everywhere when it was launched? When oik hit the app store I thought "god, If only I have 1% of kevin rose visibility to use it". I guess this ain't enough. I thin

You are trying to hard and you are doing it wrong. Instead of doing this why don't you contact your congress people or whatever you guys have in the US and try to change the immigration laws ? I'd rather cut my wrists than to spent my time

I wouldn't compare OS interfaces with websites. They are totally different things. An OS UI is mostly buttons and other widgets, window frames, and behavior. The actual applications are very different. Just to give you an example: Look Reed

I can't make up my mind about this. The developer in me loves bootstrap, it doesn't makes me think too much about UI. I can't just worry about coding and functionality. However, seeing all websites using the same layout it's pretty boring a

I use bootstrap mostly for prototyping and get it up and running. However, the way I see it, twitter bootstrap for instance is a very well done front-end framework, and puts a high bar for the front-end dev, which is always good.

To me, a perfect interview would be: "Here's a coding challenge, go home, write the code to solve this, come back tomorrow and tell me three things: - How you did it, - Why you pick this solution, - How it could be improved" by doing this I

I couldn't agree more. Everything is "hard" on the first couple of times, but the only recommendation I say to people is to stop worrying about the language, and go create stuff, get into that mindset of creating something, even if it's jus

You don't have to have a US bank account, it's not a requirement. It's always a plus to have one, specially if you want to use US payment gateways, but that's it.

I never really worked with Android so I can't speak for it. But I completely agree with you on the updated documentation, I just feel that sometimes I get a little lost when I trying to learn how to use a class or framework.

I don't think Objective-C is hard at all. If you understand OO or come from a OO language you can pick it up pretty fast, like in a day or two. Cocoa on the other hand requires much more learning curve. Also apple could improve their docume

Wow, I'm really impressed with Tornado. I'm learning node.js at the moment, but I've been working with Python/Django as well, so I will definitely consider this for my project. Any benchmarks between node.js and Tornado btw ?
