Hmm, point "a.3 Because governments have become parasites that are killing their host," resonates with truth, but not all of the truth. We must be in a local maxima (minima?) at the moment - I don't believe we've found t

If anyone from the New Yorker sees this, here is what your user interface looks like to the average reader of your online newspaper: https://imgur.com/a/kCoxLHR Notice the % that is content.

Gravity wells. I only realised in my 20s that the only reason satellites can orbit the Earth without crashing into the ground is by going sideways really, really fast. So as they inch closer to the ground, they also travel parallel to the g

Anything smart enough to pass a Turing test is smart enough to fail it. There's a story from a few years ago about how Target knew customers knew themselves, but they were smart enough to mix the diaper discounts in with some lawnmower

Fantastic! This warms the cockles and makes me feel like the Web is moving in a good direction. How is this implemented, canvas? (I haven't checked)

Very cool. Next step would be to emulate lighting in the target scene, but that probably requires pose detection and facial landmarks for accurate shading.

There is an old army rumour that South African infantry men were fed copper sulphate ("blouvitrioel" in Afrikaans) to decrease their libido, but it's not true: https://samilhistory.com/2017/10/17

Just want to say thanks for this. I was using Leechblock before, but it would frequently navigate away from in-progress forms while I was writing longform comments and lose work, whereas Intention offers a modal prompt to extend the period.

I think you’d be surprised how eager the owners of crusty mainframe systems are to stop managing ancient infra and how heavily they have been sold on serverless / “the cloud”.

Panic closed the tab when a giant form popup appeared asking for my email. Hate to add noise to the discussion, but I hope the author sees this and understands the market doesn't want this and reduces readership.
