We are all dependent on the government already, but have mechanisms to prevent such abuse. Couldn't the government aready threaten to close down all hospitals? Open up all prisons? But they dont.

What you argue is not that LOC in itself causes bugs, but that certain programming syntaxes are both complex (thus induces bugs) and takes up more LOC.

The thing is that insurances and checks on vehicle brakes are not visible for the consumer, and so an uninformed consumer won't care about it until an accident happen. By then, it's too late.

My small experience from working with startups was that a LOT of java EE was used. This most likely came from them needing cheap labor, and many programmers fresh from school only knew java. I don't know if those startups qualified as

Sometimes when dealing with high security you have to input a nonce. Autocomplete would be a nuisance.

Those are good objections. I guess the only safe way of dealing with bitcoins is to get money into a wallet without in any way associating it with your real life persona, which could be very tricky. And after that never ever use your wallet

You wouldn't have to make a payment from "JOHN DOES ACCOUNT" to "PERVERTED PORN ACCOUNT". You could easily set up several wallets in the middle, obfuscation the transaction and gaining deniability. However, beware!

Personally I would guess that biases such as confirmation bias interferes with or reasoning much more than any fallacies. Also, they are harder to get rid of.
