Just saw thus addressed in the comments: > Great question. We get this one a lot and have been approached by quite a few developers who say they could easily build us something like this. Is it possible? Sure. Would it be better? I doubt

It's interesting that they employ a dozen flight searchers who manually look all day. Are there any flight prices APIs that can be scraped, looking for significant outliers?

But what would make 2B people use an open blockchain-based technology vs a closed proprietary one?

In terms of market size sure, in terms of active users, I'm skeptical. Best case is that the decentralization is seamless and creates no friction. There are already closed protocols that enable almost everything you would be able to do

When it comes to board seats there's only one socio-economic background that matters.

Not sure why we immediately need to jump to the trope that a more qualified male candidate would be passed over. You're treating a seat on the board as if were some sort of technical role with hard skills. It's not - it's a r

Not sure what straw man you are arguing against, certainly never said it would "magically solve issues around sexism" or that "alone" is "enough to change the toxic culture". We are talking about the role of bo

It's crazy that hiring a woman to be the second woman on a board is considered "diversity hiring" though. It's not a super minority that is being looked for to tout diversity, it's half the population! I'm sure

A woman with a perspective on the diversity and culture they need to create seems uniquely qualified for the role.

Really can't make this up. The board has spent months trying to figure out how to deal with their culture issues, and minutes into the all-hands presenting their findings, he says a disparaging offhand comment about women.

I think Giants fans would treat their players better if the team was 11 games over .500 instead of under and if their best reliever wasn't league average. I'm not saying all fans are rational, many are emotional/ignorant and

Of course performance matters, just not for voting for a meaningless game (that was stupidly given meaning). Schwarber isn't going to be suddenly become thrilled with how well his season is going just because he finishes fifth in ASG v

The theory has always been that those sluggers would be the ones driving people in, rather than counting on the guys behind to drive them in. So it's an interesting tradeoff - more people on base with worse hitters behind them who may

You really need to pick your spots as a hitter there. For power hitters like Rizzo, opposing teams would LOVE if he bunted against the shift instead of swung for the fences. If he does it even more often, you put your 3B on the grass. Getti

Sorry, didn't mean it was necessarily reflected in MVP voting from the old guard of writers, more in modern sabermetrics. Trout for example, a perennial 30/30+ candidate, his speed, baserunning and defensive play are a big part of

I think speed will still be valuable as stolen bases continue to decrease across the league, as long as those hitters can still get on base at a .320+ clip. But speed is what makes players who can do it all, like Altuve, MVP candidates now.

Sure, more area to cover but also a lot more time to get there. It's less trying to hit to the outfield, but rather hit homeruns. The problem is that it's easier said than done, and the old philosophy (look at Ichiro for example),

With how much Google had previously invested in Uber, without the Waymo lawsuit it's safe to say this deal would have been struck with Uber instead. Has nottt been a good few months for Uber, and Lyft has really taken advantage.
