I use tmux on the other side of mosh, and _that_ gives me scroll back plus all of the other great things about tmux.

Hmmm, I'll give it a try, though I'm quite happy with mosh. Having to open up only one extra port is nice. I use remote tmux sessions, and so I've never had a scrolling issue before.

I feel like they grossly underestimated how many users regularly use back ticks in their Slack messages – the rest of the formatting stuff seems to work fine, but the back tick handling is just horrible.

Not a perfect solution, but you _could_ relay through a provider like Sendgrid. For personal use, the cost would be very minimal if not free.

Though one would generally write a shell script starting with: `#!/bin/sh` So it doesn't really matter what the login shell is. (As a long-time FreeBSD user, the first thing I always do is install a different shell; I'm

Note that if you do this, you should either `pkg install bash-static` or build bash from the ports using STATIC option (I don't _believe_ it's the default, though it really should be). Without that static option, you could potenti

We've been using Clubhouse for a few years. It's been rock-solid, has a really polished interface, good integrations (Github, Slack), and is not Jira. (shudders)

I have been using regular TabNine with vim since January. It is considerably better than anything else I've used, and it saves me a ton of time. Sometimes the suggestions are eerily exactly what I wanted. O_o

The author points out Safari's handling of this, but in reality, I think you'd need to address this on a per-browser basis. Zoom said they added this behaviour _because_ Safari added a confirmation which Chrome (and presumable oth

Zoom got around the CORS restriction by requesting an _image_ which is not subject to CORS. So there are some limitations of what can be done and how you can access things. But you could certainly use this technique to do some simple IP

I really hope they introduce a Semi-Pro display for those of us with existing MacBook Pros (I think my 2016 can only push a 5K) who just want a successor to the Thunderbolt Display. I'm currently using a Thunderbolt Display as well as

Perhaps not as fancy, but I have been loving TabNine with Vim. (works with most editors) Its suggestions are scary good some of the time. https://tabnine.com/

I was just about to say basically the same thing. This move only reinforces the same thing that really the only consumer products that are safe are Gmail and Docs (G Suite, essentially). Anything else is basically a psychological experiment

The Amazon Certificate Manager uses SNI, and you can request certificates with multiple hosts and even wildcard domains. I would imagine if you upload your own multi-domain certificate that it would work in the same way, but I have never te

Really nice summary! If you really want to make your life with ports easier, I highly recommend Poudriere ( https://github.com/freebsd/poudriere ). Poudriere can build your ports collection for one or more machines runni

Wow! I _loved_ HyperStudio. We learned so much using it in my school, and I still actually have a floppy disc in my collection with my HyperStudio stack. It's an honour to be able to tip my hat and raise a glass for your contribution.

I'm really surprised that there are no technical specifications that would include, say, colour temperature. I've yet to see an LED bulb that produces light anywhere close to the warmth and spectrum spread as a halogen bulb. At $6

My telco was charging $8/month for visual voicemail, so I opted to buy a Twilio number for $1/month, and set my phone to forward no answer/busy/unavailable to a simple Twilio app I wrote that handles voicemail. When some

It's just brutal in Yosemite. This is the first release to which I regret upgrading. I've never had so many issues on my laptop, and it has never been so slow. My FileVault encryption has been stuck at 99% since I upgraded and ena
