Don't forget Sharepoint as well. From what I understand, it is a major source of revenue growth right now.

I was one of the students on the far left of that chart - the early 90s spike. I don't recall any external influence like The Social Network, but the course had a great reputation, and the world was going through a tech shift (students had

I'm jealous:) sounds like a lot of fun. When they came out, I used the ITA puzzles to shake the rust of my lisp skills and even considered sending some of the solutions in and applying, but that would have been a major career change. In any

Second this one - choose a window seat on the left if you have a flight into DCA. If you are lucky, you'll land from the north, and get an amazing view of the city as you approach - at pretty low altitude so you see everything very clearly.

The 5A stops at Herndon and often at Tysons/Westpark as well. I don't mean this as a nitpick; it's relevant because a direct trip from Rosslyn to Dulles could take the airport lanes on the toll road all the way from the 66/267 split, but th

I agree with the overall viewpoint of the article, so just adding an observation on how we got here. Tying management compensation to shareholder value is a good idea; the problem is in the measurement of shareholder value. If the public ma

I'd vote that memorizing a hundred 2 letter words (many of which you likely already know) is easier than memorizing 26 mnenomics. or, you can just know a bunch and guess every once in awhile, gambling that your opponents also don't know all

I think most of the applications (like the ING example) have the recipient supply that information to the sender's bank, not to the sender himself. Not totally sure it works that way in Europe, but I think so.

Begs the question - why are wire transfers so expensive in the US? Most banks here charge $25 (and also make it difficult to execute online), yet you can send a check for free. Doesnt make sense. The only sensible application I've seen is I

Milestone-based fundings like this are pretty rare in the US and usually in troubled or very high risk situations. Most vc fundings that you would hear about are straight up equity deals (cash received at closing).
