Wow, so many ideas in a single photo. Thanks.

Wow, thanks. I am quite likely “holding it wrong” (TM) but I had to either extend my right hand too much to get to the ctrl key or was always oressing two keys at the same time. It was probably a bad config but now… I’ve found it!

You only notice the difference when holding a key for auto repeat, which I almost never do, much less with alphabet keys.

Thanks. Someone else has suggested it too. I shall have to take a look for my work keyboard.

I chose j just because I could. Why do you lose ctrl-j? There is another ctrl on the left side of the keyboard. Uh?

THANKS! I am going to try this with my kinesys at work. The ergodox I have is for home.

All: thanks for the great feedback. I have also used all the linux/mac tools for other keyboards but honestly, everything pales in comparison with ergodox’s configuration tool and with being able to program ordinary keys and see it wor

Yes probably right. But the ergodox has such a nice programming interface that it makes the OS-level configuration pale in comparison.

Oh no, this is totally different (I also have an old kinesys at work and program caps etc. as I wish): here you can turn any other key into that… Even keys which are usually not part of a combination. The fact that it is expensive has nothi

No: you use j as always. Only if you hold it pressed, it becomes ctrl. Astounding.

Of course, that is why I was confused. Also the title of the post is either confusing or a kind of play on words.

I think that circular "computer" appears explicitly (as a photo) in the post. Thanks for the info!

This is important, thanks. I "understood" (mis) the post thinking that somehow, Fedora would now only use Digital Rights Managed displays (with a hack to make all non-DRM displays into one)... :~/

Of course you are right but I was just trying to explain to OP that certainly General Relativity is not just “linear algebra”.

A pity it is too snarky, I agree with the thesis (it would be very nice to have children/young people to know how to use it) but the tone is too negative. I am a big fan of teaching children to use an abacus, also.

A tensor is a differential structure with pointwise linear properties. But the important thing is not the pointwise behavior but the differential nature of the “family of tensors in non-Euclidean space”.

I guess you are mistaking the “local linear nature” of tensors for differential geometry. GR is certainly not “linear algebra”.

AFAIK linear momenum depends on the choice of inertial reference frame, so you may assume it is 0.

I do know 3 or 4 important ones. It is easy if you take the effort to write a card and study it during a couple of weeks frequently (and try to always dial from memory, of course).

Two insights more a) But for probability you nees the measure of the whole space to be 1, which forces points “far away” to have very small “weight”. Thus, there is no uniform distribution in the whole R. b) and then your mind blows up when

Because it goes against the facts: the government is chosen by vote of the people. It may not have the rule of law or separation of powers, but that is totally different.

No, democracy is NOT one person one vote. That is a specific kind of democracy, which may or may not be acceptable for whatever reasons. Democracy means “the people” as a group decide the outcome. But how it is done may defer a lot.

A constitution without separation of powers with the possibility of judging the representatives is worthless. The fact that doing so is difficult (the most blatant case being Nixon) does not make it worthless, it only helps granting the exe

Not trying to nitpick. Probably the parent might have meant “forget it when moving the monitor to a different place”. This happens more often than one may think once you have trashed the box the monitor came in. But yes, it is a bit strange
