Yeah, but that's a specific edge case. Half-Life was written years before Steam was probably even conceived. WON was built-in from the start, while ValveGUI/Steam was retrofitted into an existing architecture.

Along this line, I've always loved Nullsoft's "beep" program. It makes your (windows) computer sound like it's right out of a 70s movie. http://www.1014.org/code/nullsoft/nbeep/ It does get annoying, obviously.

Remember, though: contacts are touch-targets. The "huge spacing" is there to make the app easier to use. I think the article even touched on that.

I'm pretty sure the point (which was not quite adeptly-made) is that calling Spacetime a "well-known game developer" is overselling the company by a bit. I'd never heard of them before either. They're clearly doing a great job in the mobile

Rather than replace Quicktime with VLC, you're much better off, in my opinion, installing the Perian plugin. It runs almost everything: http://www.perian.org I suppose I've also technically "replaced" my dock and Spotlight search with Lau

I doubt this will really provoke much outrage. Remember, half of Facebook is a vanity service. If you're "liking" Starbucks or checking-in at TGI Fridays, you want to show off to your friends that you like that brand.
