Those ignorant people are your users too, and you're still being a dick by selling them out, no matter how you try to rationalize around it.

That is actually what I thought this OpenPDF thing was. I feel that the name is very unfortunately chosen - it's too generic, should have had a "J" in it at least to denote that it is a Java library. JOpenPDF, perhaps.

My parents rationalize this by saying that they want to have something to reminisce about once they're too old to travel or even to move around without pains. On the other hand, the photos they take on their travels do not end up on an

Well, of course. No AI would tolerate all the workplace abuse, rampant "bro culture" and endless hours of "mandatory voluntary" crunch time that happens in game development companies, including Rockstar Games Inc. https

That sounds like something horrible that one never should have needed to bother with in the first place. Like saying that with this new car, I no longer bother checking whether the wheels aren't about to fall off. :)

Vista, after a few service packs, was somewhat usable, but still a performance hog. It felt like an early alpha build of Win7 (once that came out).

Oh, WinME had much worse issues than just some crash here or there. As someone who at that time made a living by (among other things) deploying, maintaining and repairing Windows PCs at various small business offices, it was a nightmare. Ev

Except that the article is only about one particular reason the author finds PGP use uncomfortable. It doesn't deal with any "brokenness of PGP" at all.

Sounds like you were bitten by the technical debt that was created by placing an important database behind a single point of failure - a single physical server. Of course something would break sooner or later, PA-RISC and Itanium servers we
