I am not a finance person, but maybe you should talk to a tax attorney or tax planner. That kind of person may be able to offer some guidance on what you can do. Good luck and remember at the end of the day, it's just money and you c

In this case, the company had gone public, so they could have sold. Bolt is a wholly different story. I think the employees back in 2000 had one window where they could sell where the stock was at a high value. Many of them passed it up, e

Short answer: greed. They didn’t want to give up any shares. To pay for the tax they owed between strike price and current market value, they should done a cashless transfer and sold off a portion to cover the taxes and then held the rema

"Don't spend real money on fake money." Good advice I got from colleagues at a 2000 era company who took out loans to buy their options and cover the taxes when the stock was at $50/share and then watched it drop to <

It sank in 1975. There could certainly be children of the sailors alive, and a spouse who was in their 30’s at the time would be around their 80’s now. That doesn’t seem far fetched.

Follow up to off-topic. I have also thought the arcologies of Sim City 3000 or the unexplained environment in the Black Mirror episode "15 million merits"[1] are likely in our future. 0: https://simcity.fandom.com/

Yes, an individual can protest in this fashion, but that doesn't negate the unchecked influence Twitter has and the GP's concerns over how the rich and powerful are able to acquire this influence without any limit. It's a go

Agree with all your points and I share your concerns. If this deal goes through, I'll cancel my (almost completely unused) Twitter account. It's not much, but it's more than nothing.

I’m going to assume you misinterpreted the GP. I read “their current state” as referring to the roads, not to the kids. For example: lack of sidewalks, roads with high speed limits, distracted drivers on phones, lack of other children walk

I’ve had a good number of jobs in 20+ years in software. I have had a private office four times. Once when the business unit was failing and my room only had me in it. Once when I worked for a small old school family company. Once when I ma

At least give it a try. I suspect based on join dates that I’m similar or older than the OP. The more senior you get, the more time it can take on a search, but with remote work, you should definitely be trying.

As someone who actually saw that book back in the ‘80’s. Truly tasteless jokes vol. 3 != bbc.com. You could definitely print those jokes today, but, as in 1983, I wouldn’t expect them in a major worldwide media outlet’s article. I’d expect
