We don't want robots to make human-level mistakes. Robotic drivers should work much better than humans, otherwise they should not exist.

> Why do you believe that Tesla is behind? Because Cruise does not need a back-up human driver present. Tesla seems far behind because as this story indicates, a human needs to be paying close attention when Tesla is in charge. Overall

Yeah but how often do you see negative stories about Cruise and Waymo? Where lives are endangered? The story about cars stopped in the middle of a street doesn't count since lives were not in danger.

Waymo and Cruise are also using more expensive, bulky and unsightly hardware, including lidar. They are starting at the top, with a solution that works, then working their way down. Their approach is confidence-inspiring. Tesla is starting

If you are building Google doc editor by all means, design a complex state management system, it is worth it. But then don't bring that complexity into typical business applications.

Sure, you can come up with an example where some synchronization is needed, but how often do you have this requirement? In most apps it is rare, which means that it can be solved by using a couple of extra lines of code to update the screen

Cache stays simple even for large applications. It never gets "sufficiently complex".

The "state management problem" appears to be an invention of React. This didn't use to be a problem with MVC. The state lives on the server. When state changes it should be persisted on the server immediately (in case the use

The reason for Netflix lost subscribers in 2022 is the same as the reason Netflix experienced a growth spurt in 2020: work from home. When people work from home, on average they gain an extra hour or more per day, because they don't ha

So you have to set the scaling to a non-default amount, to get that to happen. Of course I would expect display artifacts in that case, because you're forcing it to happen.

It is different from person to person. I notice pixels on 13-inch 1080p screens. I can't imagine using a display that is not 200% scaling. Even 300% scaling has display artifacts.

Still no retina display option. Steve Jobs made the right call over a decade ago... the only scaling that looks good after 100% is 200%. Any in-between scaling will have display artifacts. This laptop has 150% scaling. What sort of display
