From course homepage: > Most course material is covered in video lectures recorded in 2010 (already watched by over 350,000 people), which you can conveniently play at faster speed than real time. There may also be some new material pres

I use CleanShot X, which gives me a ton of easier options for this stuff (and the nostalgia from Skitch) -- highly recommend, included with Setapp too.

I was really desperate to contribute to an open-source project in high school, specifically an iOS or frontend web one, and it was hard to find projects that I could make a substantial contribution to. Many with `good first issue` tags were

I really liked the story of Celeste, not super deep but the gameplay is super smooth, and the art is gorgeous. It has the perfect balance of being difficult but not difficult enough to get mad at (except a few levels...).

I used to go there a ton and I wanted to see if there were any good deals, see if my go-to was in stock, accumulate rewards, and check hours if I went to a new store. The app theoretically provides the "best" experience as well --

In high school my favorite resource was the Calculus (9E?) textbook by Larson. Super thorough in the explanations, there were tons of practice problems and step by step solutions on their website (no subscription needed iirc) for odd # prob

My philosophy is to never browse reddit as a "whole" but instead just go to specific subreddits for what I need. It's been 10x more "normal" and each subreddit has a better balance between full of snarky replies (r&

I wish there was a module bundler like Webpack or Parcel that was not super nondeterministic. Something that Just Works(tm), where error messages are consistent+predictable, and configuration isn't a nightmare.

I'd really suggest you read this article to understand why he's already starting with little knowledge of how to begin solving the problems he claims to be important ("free speech", in his eyes) -- https://www

Escapism is a helluva time. If I find myself repeatedly checking the same app, I uninstall whatever app I check for a while to give me some space to figure out why. I always end up recovering, re-installing and continuing as normal. I would

I wish there was a nicer way to integrate multiple languages together. Like if you could somehow transpile perfectly (or pick a really neat abstraction w/o optimizations) that preserves a general implementation. Seems impossible but I

What I can say is that it lets me have a lot of convenient aliases for things that are 1 letter long: “o” for “open .”, “s” for “subl .”, etc. And nice 2 letter ones: “gc” for “git commit”.

This article was really hard to read. I generally hate sources that are dripping with opinion that I need to get five or six paragraphs in to bypass the “of COURSE they did X, like we covered last Thursday”. Also obligatory academic freedom

To learn Rust, I started building a D&D character-management CLI tool just last week. (Might rename to "terminal roll", eh?) Cool to see a fully featured one from the DM side! [0] https://github.com/peterkos&#x

I’ve personally seen way more e2e regressions than isolated regressions (mobile dev). It seems to make sense from a high level: it’s easy to test finite/internal behavior (unit test, UI test, or manually), but there are exponentially m
