For those that don't already know, GitHub has a cool little feature that allows you to link directly to line ranges, i.e. https://github.com/mackyle/sqlite/blob/3cf493d4018042c70a4db... See the awesome G

A few first impressions: 1. Why oh why must we always shove everything into modal dialogs? In the "old" interface, each contact had its own separate page and individual URL. Now that every contact is a "card" that appear

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you supposed to evaluate stacked exponents from the top down? That is, 9^(9^9) instead of (9^9)^9. If that's the case, 9^(9^9) is much larger than 9!!. Though I'm not sure how much l

Cool! I was actually just looking for a tool like this a couple of weeks ago. I stumbled across git-cal[1], which only works on one repository at a time, but it doesn't require you to import your commits first like this one does[2]. He

Cool! Looks like it'll do that in any browser + device combo that supports the device orientation API[1], including Safari on iOS and Chrome on most Mac laptops. Here's little bit more information from a previous comment of mine,

Doesn't that link contradict your point? Only the verb version contains a space. setup noun ... set up verb (adverb, mainly transitive) ... That said, I agree with you regarding prescriptivism vs. descriptivism.

I found that last page with the BOS-HNL-LAX-PWM-BOS circle query really fascinating for a couple of different reasons: 1) the fact that ITA could already do this in 2003, and 12 years later, most flight search engines still can't handl

Out of curiosity, for those of you building stuff with Flux: Which library do you use? Or do you just use your own implementation? We recently went with Reflux[1] for our first big React app after reading about it here[2], and I've bee

Ah, it seems I misinterpreted that paragraph. You mean to say that you're unlikely to get caught working while you're there on an otherwise legal tourist visa, right? I agree that it's less risky, but I'm still not sure

Am I allowed to work there? No, not really. But they’re not checking. Places like Southeast Asia are chock full of expats living there, doing silly things like “visa runs” to the next country and back every couple months to remain a to

If you'd like to collect similar stats for your own code base, check out parker[1] and stylestats[2]. At my company, we aggregate certain numbers from both tools and send them to Graphite to monitor over time, as inspired by this talk
