I disagree, isn't it better to go to another company that might provide challenge/pay rather then looking for things to do (especially on that company's dime?)

What would be interesting to see if we replace all applicant's informations were anonymous and everyone got reviewed strictly based on merits.

I think that's interesting. I understand that you're looking for someone with basic/foundational knowledge - but can you really judge them on not knowing (or be able to explain) a specific function? Wouldn't it be better

It's really weird to me trying to do a lot of data handling on the front-end side rather than using server-side.

I have, but I'm having hard time creating projects that uses (or rather justify using) the higher-level JS programming paradigm.

I have a pretty solid understanding of AngularJS, and I can't really think of any project that really <i>requires</i> jQuery.

I guess that was the problem I faced when I started down the OOJS - what do I exactly use this for? I understand that it's a great way for reuse & extending, but aside from giant applications with numerous developers, is it really

I agree to a certain degree - I think the biggest problem that the author had was the unrealistic expectation of the employer. Way I see it, it's always going to be a struggle between what the company wants (more for less) and what the

Isn't that what the author was saying? just be focused in your work and be sure to give the company the value they deserve?

Maybe I'm just naive. But I'd like to think that immigration is for a greater cause than for companies to make more money.

What makes a great programmer? And what does this great programmers do? We have had and still have a vast number of great programmers in US and churning our more and more, but what do they do? is it greatness that they seek? if so, why are

I'm an immigrant, served in USMC, after service had to pay and take a test to become a citizen (funny right? can die for the country but won't let me be a citizen). I love my country(both), but when did immigration become somethin

flat design is trending because we have so many "designers" who can't design.

animation is bit choppy and jumpy. This goes completely against the animation principal that google's Material UI talks about.

every interaction should have a logical purpose behind it. clicking is a natural form of selection, swiping is more geared towards movement.

I never understood why the external resource is such a concern for devs - most of your application will be online with online access. Google is not making a call out to send data, but to retrieve what it needs to render the different chart

I guess there in lies my question - d3 makes it easy to marry the data to a dom, making it easy to add interactivity. So, i guess why would I chose to use Dc rather than to use d3 with crossfilter.js?

Could anyone explain the benefit of using Dc.js vs google charts API or d3.js? Crossfilter seems really cool - but since it's another library, what is it that Dc is offering?
