What's more, it seems that a small wage increase (say, for the next hire after a CEO's child is born) could have an outsize effect on average pay at the company.

Knowing some information theory should tell us that the answer is precisely one bit. Is there a law like Betteridge's for articles where the headline answers its own question?

This reminds me quite a bit of this article: http://blog.moertel.com/posts/2006-10-18-a-type-based-soluti... , although Haskell's type system is likely much better for expressing this sort of constraint.

I think the title is a bit misleading. Perhaps "a quick explanation of one common feature of functional languages in five minutes" would be more appropriate?

It actually can have some benefits -- a language without any unbounded loops or recursion isn't Turing-complete, but you do get a static guarantee of termination. NASA, for example, writes much of their C code only with bounded recursion. S

I'd say that the next step would be a CAPTCHA for Go -- creating an efficient Go player is still an open problem, and we could crowdsource the AI research to spammers!

You'll find that they are integers, though: >>> isinstance(True, int) True >>> bool.__mro__ (<type 'bool'>, <type 'int'>, <type 'object'>) Although they aren't literally the same object, 1 ==

OP here -- this is my first real open-source library, and I'm newish to Clojure. Any criticism is very much welcomed. This is somewhat inspired by https://github.com/amoffat/sh/ , although Clojure macros make this quite a bit easier.
