I bet Virgin Media will be under pressure to follow suit too, seeing how lots (probably most) of their TV offering is from Sky.

It's been made more general than just grid (it used to be called grid-gap) and works with flexbox too. I don't know if Safari supports it in flexbox yet and it's a pain to detect with @supports because Safari _does_ support g

The only laptops I know with the keyboard at the front of the base are a couple of Asus models, the Zephyrus and the Zenbook. Both have the touchpad to the right of the keyboard and a second screen above. Definitely an acquired taste and no

Yeah, it and Affinity Photo are pretty much the only reason I keep a Windows partition now. I think Darktable looks like a contender but I'd prefer to be able to make it just use Adwaita and look normal.

I've used Capture One Pro for a similar amount of time and anything else (LR included) feels like a step down. Probably mostly inertia and familiarity by this point.

This isn't _large scale_ yet, we only have about 15 services using this library. I'm hoping that now we've stabilised and are spending time on making things structurally better (removing tech debt, improving the tests, rewrit

Yeah, that's undoubtedly the case. Rails appears to have (Apple-style) taken some cues from elsewhere and made the user experience actually nice.

I only tested it out a couple of days ago, I'm no expert. So far it's been plain sailing, I'm already familiar with Yard-style docs and getting everything up and running from the spec/dummy app was really straightforward

I've used view component heavily over the last year or so, it's an amazing library. It perfectly fits the gap between helpers and partials and really does help keep things well organised. I maintain a library of components and bei

I always thought Perl was the originator of this style, which would explain why it's been in Ruby forever. I wonder where it started if it existed before Perl.

I don't want to take credit for the work the Design System team does (they're awesome and supremely dedicated), I stand on their shoulders.

I use refinements in a couple of my projects, they definitely feel like the right approach, especially in a library where you don't want unintended consequences. Admittedly they're a bit of a mystery to lots of devs.

So I think Trello is great for some things and on a smaller board with a handful of tickets it's one of the better tools around. There are several 'weak' bits of the UI though, like not being able to open a ticket in its own

Definitely going the GitHub route next time time I'm moved onto a new project. The past two have used Jira and Trello and both are just a continuous source of frustration for me.

GitHub made it easier than ever for people to share and collaborate on code. The options that predated it were pretty awful by comparison. It's no wonder that within a couple of years most OSS projects had moved over. GitHub launched i

I do kind of wish Rails had just taken the 'bring your own JavaScript and CSS' route instead of wrapping Webpack and adding a boatload of confusion due to multiple layers of things that don't feel like they were designed to w

I prefer long options purely because the short ones vary so much program by program. With a shell that provides nice autocompletion there's barely any more typing involved and your history is easier to search through.
