Seems like network only. I have an instance that was unavailable via SSH. When things came back up I still had 81 days of uptime.

Very interesting having the DBs hosted in another datacenter. I've always assumed it'd add too much latency, but it looks like that's not the case. Here's a traceroute between an EC2 instance in us-east-1a and rackspace.com (which resolved
