The Verge have speculated [1] that the new Touch Bar found in the latest MBPs is a gateway to running iOS apps natively, with no emulation. [1] http://www.theverge.com/2016/10/28/13454052/apple-macbook-pr

They never provided CPU emulation for that. Their solution for Mac LC was effectively an Apple IIe shrunk down to a PDS expansion card.

The Darling FAQ mentions it's Linux-only and that a BSD port would be plausible but a Windows version would take a lot more effort. So I'm wondering how much of the software requires 'Linux' per se or rather just relies

Because it's too much effort to port to Servo and they'd rather piggyback on Chrome's plugin efforts?

'aging renderer', aka Gecko? I thought the plan was to get an alpha product based around Servo in the next year or so. Clinging to Gecko is akin to the slow death of Symbian when Maemo was around the corner.

That's a good question; I'm in the 'external' camp. But other browsers such as Edge and Chrome have built-in support, so there's a percentage of Mozilla management and user base that would regard a browser as featur

OTOH, pdf.js is the first thing I disable in Firefox, since SumatraPDF and Atril render things much more quickly and lightly! :) I can understand customer demand but I'd prefer if it was optional - e.g. the first time a user visits a P

They're deprecating XUL and the NPAPI plugin architecture so that they can move to servo relatively legacy free. Importing Chrome's SWF and PDF is a way to stress test their new plugin implementation. Not maintaining pdf.js seems

pdf.js and B2G cancellation were probably linked in that one justification for a pure JS renderer was to display PDFs on Firefox OS.

I have previously installed shumway but it never seemed to work on the websites I wanted to load. :( So perhaps the remaining effort to get it working was too much.

Nexus 4, released in Oct 2012, is still better spec-wise in terms of screen and RAM than most $50 devices. I picked up one on ebay for $AU80 and the battery is still okay but the non-replaceable feature the only thing keeping me from using
