Im currently working on a large scale commercial app in C. You have to be very careful with memory and safety, but overall it's so much better than writing apps in JavaScript, Java, or any other language I can think of.

I'm working on some bare metal ARM32 firmware, and I can't find a language that comes close to C. I can get it to generate pretty much any assembly I can think of. Other languages make it a pain to write memory unsafe code.

Main thing that bothers me with electron is RAM usage (300mb I think?). And when I tested a WebView/tauri demo, RAM usage ended up being about the same since it had to load webkit.

My Fujifilm firmware reverse engineering project has been incredibly difficult so far. The codebase isn't that complicated, but reverse engineering the most cryptic and obscure embedded RTOS I've ever seen is next to impossible.

Reminds me of the 256 byte OS I made, which was really just a BrainFuck ripoff with a prompt. Went on to make a huge assembler and "kernel" for it.
