It wasnt that long ago I was using a 16 year old IBM Thinkpad. Wrote a lot of good code on it. It could barely run MATE/Debian.

But you would have to manually pass cstrings into it? Is there a way to make a wrapper to pass rust strings into it? Now that I think about it that may have been my issue.

The most painful thing about this is strings. To convert to/from cstrings, you have to use the stdlib FFI function, which will allocate memory. This was a nice surprise in the form of a bunch of undefined GNU ABI references when linkin

If it isn't on a SD card, then it's backed up on an old hard drive. I have a SATA to USB adapter I use to transfer data. For my phone photos I probably only have a few hundred from the past 6 years. I delete most of them. Most of

I don't really want to bring much attention to this right now, but: https://github.com/petabyt/fudge Fudge is an alternative to Fujifilms camera pairing app.

A few hours ago I pushed an update for my app that sadly increased the size from 70kb to 233kb. So it's nice to see im not the only one struggling with bloaty apps.

Crypto people now are waiting for the next bull cycle/halving/bull run/pump and dump so they can sell all their coins and retire in a nice house in the Caribbeans.

One of my things is a C-based alternative to react native. https://github.com/petabyt/libui-touch Completely unfinished and incapable.

Code doesn't really have the same 'human touch' the way art does. We've spent the past 20 years making libraries, higher level languages, UI frameworks, etc to make development faster. If there's any 'human tou

Web devs? I don't know what that would look like, maybe it would be a AI enhanced Weebly/Wix/CMS/no code platforms? Then again those platforms are fairly capable and didn't make much of any web devs obsolete in the

Yes. I'll go out and do a hour long session then only a few days later realize: "shoot, I forgot to put the camera into RAW mode"

Big investors get a boner when they think about AI. So founders get FOMO and shove it into everything.

Looks like all the UIs are made with iced, a new UI library. My question, is this missing all the accessibility features found in uikits like Gtk and Qt? Does each app respect my system theme?

I mean how am I supposed to give it a 10k-50k page TRM? I would much rather read the TRM and understand things myself than have it spit out a questionable answer that I still have to double-check to make sure it hasn't hallucinated.

I do embedded development, I've tried a ton of models and all of them end up hallucinating and wasting my time with the very obscure and undocumented things I work with every day. Maybe if you're in webdev land, AI will replace yo

The Fuji cameras I'm working on include similar functionality. Basically the camera can connect to any AP, then it will find a client. From there the client can do liveview/automatic photo importing/change settings.
