I honestly love projects like this one, but is the implementation language really worth fragmenting this niche? Uzbl is in Python and I can't think of any objective reason why Haskell would be better for a browser.

Does anyone know why it would cost more than 5 times more than the original budget? And how did they manage to reallocate that much resources? This being the 3rd Olympic event in London, I'm surprised the estimate was that much off.

I'm sorry to downvote, but your comment is rude and doesn't reply to the parent at all. This is not how discussions are made on this site. Enjoy Meteor and have a nice day.

Considering the low number of tenants in your application, I believe automation was not an important requirement for you (if at all), but how would you go about creating virtualenvs on-the-fly?

I generally agree with your sentiment, but let's not get carried away: using 3rd party toolbars does not automatically render you unaware of technology.

Interesting. I thought sysadmin operations like MySQL sharding and master-promotion are usually automated/scripted? Not to say it makes it conceptually easier, but it limits the opportunities to lose hair to 1.

Agreed wholeheartedly. I can press buttons at the same speed in all editors -- why not give them more expression power if possible?

Am I correct in saying the proposals are not yet available to look at? I think I would understand the reason, but still wondered. In any event I'm happy that python.org renews. When I wanted to learn Python and Ruby, I checked out Ruby firs

I saw an alarm that had a propeller on top of it. The clock made it fly and you had to hunt it down (even if it falls behind the furniture) to shut the alarm.

Just so you know, my comment is not upvoted, and yours is downvoted because of the tone. "It's just the way array_merge works" is true, so true even that it applies to the whole language. Why would merging an array yield a different result

A bonus tip: do not merge arrays if you're not absolutely positively sure they are truly associative. Consider: array_merge(array(CONST_1 => 'val1'), array(CONST_2 => 'val2')); You'd expect the result to be array(CONS

Sorry, but data-bound events are not useless in server context. It might be exactly what we need when fat controllers go out of control. Perhaps you meant they are too much of a complication if taken too far to work across all concurrent re

It splits controllers into operations and events. Out of the three terminologies (state, representation, flow), the third one is arguably the most tangled. I find it healthy to refactor it into reusable chunks (operations) and event-driven

Exactly. First I didn't understand why MegaTexture was implemented in a production-ready game (Rage) because it made lots of texture look like a decade old, but I guess Carmack sees the future in it.

You architect the backend very differently if you need to scale on day one. Unless you positively absolutely sure you will, I recommend going the single server route. Amazon AWS is free for a year, it'll give you a rough idea how much money
