Those are extremely performance critical operations. A lot of people use their phone many times an hour.

You can definitely SVE vectors on the stack, there are special instructions to load and store with variable offsets. What you can't do is to put them into structs which need to have concretely sized types (i.e. subsequent element offse

MCP is fine if your tool definition is small. If it's something like a sub-agent harness which is used very often, then in fact it's probably more context efficient because the tools are already loaded in context and the model doe

They're talking about "skills" which are not the same thing as tools. Most models haven't been trained on the open SKILL spec, and therefore aren't tuned to invoke them reliable when the need occurs.

In California with PG&E which most people have, no you don't save much. It's different if you can charge for free at work. And yes EVs depreciated worse than any other vehicle.

That kind of damage takes many years. Do you have scans from prior years? I also discovered I have arthritis in the ankle recently and there were no pain symptoms, only joint instability and issues higher up on the leg. This was probably ca

Why do you say it reversed engineered gcc instead of llvm? If you read the code it has much more of llvm concepts than gcc.

The level of discourse I've seen on HN about this topic is really disappointing. People not reading the actual article in detail, just jumping to conclusions "it basically copied gcc" etc etc. Taking things out of context, or

FYI something in that region happened last august/September. Some inference bug triggered worse performance on TPUs vs GPU.

I'm familiar with both compilers. There's more similarity to LLVM, it even borrows some naming such as mem2reg (which doesn't really exist anymore) and GetElementPtr. But that's pretty much where things end. The rest of

Claude was not reverse engineering here. By your definition no one can do a clean room implementation if they've taken a recent compilers course at university.

I read the source. If anything it takes concepts from LLVM more than GCC, but the similarities aren't very deep.

$50k a year? Those are rookie numbers. You're actually fine, as a small fish going belly up isn't the end of the world. You can start a new business. For some big tech companies this is potentially near existential. I would know.

None of these open source models actually can compete with Sonnet when it comes to real life usage. They're all benchmaxxed so in reality they're not "nipping at the heels". Which is a shame.
