The Hacker News mods should comment why this post has been 'bumped' from the top spot and why it's title is no longer the original title of the article. From the https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.htm

The mod's can choose to "bump" a story off the front page as a form of moderation. http://sangaline.com/post/the-stories-that-hacker-news-remov... They do it constantly to stories deemed "not worthy

This story is extremely fascinating and relevant to the HackerNews Community but it's already been Shadow Banned. Neat.

This is pretty cool. I would also love to see a "micro" instance with more cores but keep the lower memory.

I 100% agree. I was just saying that ULA has floated the idea recently.

They would need a football sized field of solar panels just to generate the methane to return, as well as a team of people to keep them clean and operating. The plan as it stands right now is solar, but nuclear needs to be on the table.

Building solar panels in space using resources gathered in space, and beaming the electricity is an idea recently floated by ULA to create a space economy[1]. So it's not outside the realm of possibility. [1] http://www.ulal

Could also use the Hydrogen and CO2 to make methane and utilize existing infrastructure.

You'd hope, but many area's "snow plowing" means the locals get together and hire someone with a road grating tractor to come and plow. AND if they have the extra budget toss some dirt on there. :-) Obviously this doesn&

Not to mention the composition or what might be below the snow. Snow and ice are by far the hardest conditions for anyone driving. I have no doubt a computer can figure it out and be better eventually, until then it will be interesting.

For anyone who's lived in areas that have regular snow storms you know that eventually mutli-lane highways turn into single lane tracks of clear road. Usually these tracks are somewhere in the middle of the road and everyone just stick

Is it documented anywhere how they handle TURN/ICE/STURN for dealing with firewalls and routers? EDIT: Looks like it doesn't. This is basically just a very small library on top of socket.io. Look forward to them helping solve

So ahh when are they going to lower prices on the "professional" dyno pricing? AWS has only gotten cheaper and heroku has only gotten more expensive.

Not a discussion of Elixir vs Erlang. Its not a zero sum game. Every improvement to erlang is an improvement to elixir and vice versa.

A key detail that seems to be missed by this article: these are three types as a subset of hackathons. Not all have to be that way, and many are not.

A Hackathon cost less money than you'd think. Typically for a day long event you can rent the place, get 3 meals, drinks and snacks including time spent for 40-50 people for about $2k. Which for a business isn't really all that mu

Community and attention to user interface is definitely one of the more striking aspects of Elixir. I've seen José (the creator) stress over unclear error messages that he has no control over and focus design of even the smallest aspec

I think I have an older version of boot2docker installed or it's in some sort of weird state, because it goes to loading then crashed. Either way this is very helpful, always hated having that thing running when I did not need it. EDIT

It feels like you are using click for touch events. Which causes a ~300ms delay only on mobile phones. Makes me a little concerned about what other "common" hybrid bugs you've missed. Is this your first rodeo with Hybrid apps
