Right. But that's implied by the fact that the phrase exists.

It kind of sounds like you have a very specific context in mind when you say this. Mind explaining?

Hmm, if you get near the bottom and then resize your window smaller, it doesn't "jump" back up to the top.

First of all it's not bad to keep using what you know, if what you know works well and is the right way to do something. Like if you're very good with the delegate pattern, don't throw it out just because you heard closures a

The first language I learned was QBasic, so when I started to learn C++, the concept of pointers was bizarre and took longer to learn than it should have, but after it finally clicked, it gave me a special love for pointers, the simplicity

I can relate too well with the author here with knowing more than others, but I see it from a different perspective. From the perspective that there are other forms of being smart besides knowledge. There is a bigger picture of culture, whi

An important factor in choosing a language is platform. I'm not going to choose Go or D to write an iOS app in, because it would be painful and buggy, if it's even possible in the first place. I'm restricted to Objective-C(++

There's plenty of full-featured Todo list apps, but what's really missing is a quick & easy todo app that's got just the right amount of features. Using Reminders and Notes for this feels clunky and awkward, and using a m

I'm always a bit skeptical when someone defends an organization by saying it's non-profit. AFAIK, the only difference between non-profit and for-profit is that the owners of a non-profit don't get to keep them money for thems

The article implies that Apple would take too big of a tax hit by doing so, to the point where it's better to wait until the laws change to make it more profitable for Apple to do so.

Really? That's not good. Well, as long as they're not using any kind of class-aware RPC, you can probably just add prefixes to all the classes yourself. Would take about 10 minutes using the Rename Class feature of Xcode, and it w

Good point! Just updated the blog post to mention this. Ultimately I don't think it's still too big of an issue. It just means that you may need to rename your classes in the future if an OS update causes a class name collision.

Very good point. I addressed our reasoning behind choosing Objective-C to some extent in the previous blog post[1]. A big reason behind this was to minimize the binary size, which means a much faster download. Because we used Objective-C an

Yep. We really enjoy watching the new Marvel movies when they come out, and watching older superhero movies from anything before the 2000s is painful at this point. But things like Star Trek TNG or Stargate SG-1 really hold up to the test o
