It's the lambda symbol in a circle. Seems more like a coincidence than anything else to me.

Having written Clojure full-time for the past 5 years while writing cleancoders.com has really spoiled me. Clojure's introspective nature makes for some amazingly fast productivity because you can hook up your IDE to the REPL and have

I made this with using my iPhone as a major use-case so yep full iPhone support. Don't have an Android to test with though.

The source is open for you to look at, I haven't decided on further permissions. That's why I felt comfortable using the phrase "open source" :) Plus it's not a very complicated website. Took me like a day to make.

Sorry, my iPhone keyboard needs a reset badly. Yeah I posted this once last week and it hit FP, and then I made a lot of changes since then and open-sourced it (by popular demand), so I'm linking to the source code now. And admittedly

Creator here. This started as a 50 line experiment and grew by feature requests. For anyone wondering how it works: The back-end uses Node.js on a single free-tier EC2 server with all custom code except for a canned websockets lib. The fron

It was originally vanilla JS on the front-end but I changed to Vue.js because it was really inconvenient without something like that. Vue has its own caveats but they're less annoying than nothing. The backend is a single free-tier EC2

I didn't realize how new that was. Yeah I rely on the newest of the newest features. I check caniuse.com and if at least 3 major browsers supports a feature then I use it freely. Sometimes that means using stuff that doesn't work

Yep definitely have a feature like that in the works. Where if > 50% active users vote to kick someone they're kicked out for 30 mins. Easy to do, just a matter of finding the time to code it :/

In my experience, it's difficult to go through because it's so comprehensive and thorough, and I guess it has to be because it has to assume the lowest common denominator audience. Personally I'd like a shorter guide that ass

Currently probably $5 per day total from all our Apple apps. Like I said, I'm terrible at marketing. I've tried and I've failed.

Your anecdote coincides with my experience working directly with a certain semi-famous programmer for the past 5 years. He's very charismatic and a great speaker, and he has a successful business selling his experienced expertise and a

We have made several iOS apps which have been very well reviewed and sell consistently, but we're not terribly good at marketing. We're open to an offer if someone wants to purchase them and market them to the right audiences. App

My difficulty with interviews is, I'm a fairly good programmer. But when asked to put these kinds of things into words, that's just not how my mind works. I see the patterns in abstract ways, and I know which ones to use when. And

Tables are good for tabular data. I'd argue that it's potentially arguable that this may actually be tabular data. Either way, now that you mentioned it, I don't know whether my knee-jerk reaction would have been that it'

Be really knowledgeable about something that other people are really interested. Find an angle of that thing that nobody's really looked at yet. Pitch that talk to places whose audiences are into that kinda thing.

I built a standing desk[1] about 3 or 4 years ago that I used exclusively for most of that time. For me the purpose was actually to relieve arm pain, because when you rest your arms against anything for extended periods of time, it aggravat

This advice is gold, thanks. But what I'm finding is that it's too painful to create a TypeScript project that has both a front-end and a back-end by incrementally building it like this, unless the front-end is just a set of stati

On that note, I wonder if we'll ever see type="text/typescript" in the browser due to how much traction it's gaining so quickly, and considering it's basically always ESNext but with types.

I tried TypeScript yesterday and while I really love the language, the tooling was wayyyy too complicated and confusing. All I wanted was to make a dead simple hello-world node app that let me write it in VS Code, and recompile the TS to JS
