People who write software shouldn't brag about making billions of perfect copies, or being able to make changes in hours, because that is just an aspect of their field which is inherently easier than automotive engineering. It isn'

Without starting any religious wars, I think we could all name at least one language that is very poorly and even dangerously designed, even though it lets you make stuff which sort-of works and earn money.

Swordfish is great on a phone. The picture for Jolla looks different if you are not in the US speaking from an Android/iPhone centric point of view. There is really nobody else taking Linux on mobile this seriously.

When a lot of the economy depends on volatile markets, there are negative externalities. In other words, it doesn't just affect the people who are using the market to gamble.

If you copy and paste code irrespective of bracket position, you will have the same problems. It turns out not to be an issue. A big positive of using indentation is that it enforces a visual indication of scope vs. languages where cultural

I would not identify Reddit as having a healthy social component. Everything that has been said here about Instagram is also largely true of Reddit, and then you can add in the Neo-nazis, fatpeoplehaters and so on on top of that.

You have to decide for yourself what is relevant to your application-visible needs. If you deem that Linux is better for running your Java app than QNX, no one wants to take that decision away from you. I don't think that's where

Indentation is visible. Conservatively estimated, tens to hundreds of thousands of programmers don't have any real problem with syntax based on indentation.

IDE features also kill the argument against Python-style indentation. It's not like experienced Python programmers are constantly getting confused by their IDEs and wondering what scope a line is in.
