PP has been "under attack" in the non-digital sense for a couple of weeks now. (edited to add) Really? This is the fourth time you've submitted this story?

Exactly. It is not clear to me why Podhoretz should be taken seriously by anyone who is not looking for a pretext for another Middle Eastern war.

I have never tried it on Linux, but Steel Panthers: World at War is excellent and has a gold rating at WineHQ. You can find the free version of SPWAW at the SPWAW Depot: http://www.spwaw.com/

As an American, I would prefer to see people getting green cards rather than H1Bs. I fear that people with H1Bs are more likely to be "motivated sellers" in the labor market, depressing wages because their BATNA is much worse tha

That's pretty cool, although part of me is horrified at the thought of something else that touches the beer that I am probably not going to sanitize properly one day.

The choice is between a button and ordering the product on your smartphone in ten seconds, or picking up the product at the grocery store the next time you're there. The choice is between having to remember to buy the product next ti

I'm iterating what's been said here already, but want to make sure you realize it really is the best way: Just find another position, give decent notice, and move on. If anyone asks, it's always about how much better the new

I had no previous experience with Scala or FP. I thought it was an excellent course, and one of the most intellectually challenging things I had done in a long time. I review the course in more depth at http://bigscary.com/

I think the inhalation risk is overstated here. This stuff is 12% alcohol by volume according to the label. You've got about 5 liters of blood. If all the alcohol goes straight to the bloodstream, to get a BAC of .4% (.004) you'r

In fact, the specifics of NJ state computer crime law might have been the reasons prosecutors stretched venue so much to get the case located there. This might be the understatement of the year :)

I would say that even URL-literate users use it this way, because the business-to-URL mapping is not always clear, and the naive guess is sometimes the worst possible one (e.g. Dick's Sporting Goods.)

I don't mean to be insensitive but if you willingly break your country's rules then you have to accept the retribution that is dealt out. Close, but I don't like the connotation of just lying down and taking it. When you b

In fact, there is quite a bit of evidence that the market for CEOs is quite the opposite -- that often CEO A sits on the board of CEOs who sit on A's board. I won't go too far in to the other points, just to say that yes, there ar

More to the point, the writer is in little position to do so. The CEO, however, is getting that fifteen million out of the value created by workers like the Stanleys and the Nuemanns.

I'm an open-borders type, and I think it's designed to drive labor costs down too. I think the tell here is the desire to expand the H-1B program, which I believe tends to lock people into one job and reduce their negotiating power.
