Yes but latest Insync adds xml suffix to files with xml contents. To keep feature parity to Google Drive Web downloads, they say. Duh! :(

Both companies still do good products though — they just aren’t marketing themselves well, I guess. Evernote support sucks though. Last version has two annoying bugs which still haven’t been fixed since Christmas. But Notion is slooow and N

GDrive has no SmartSync for ‘regular’ users and 3rd party solutions have quirks. * Insync adds xml suffix to files with xml contents. * Expandrive borks file editing sometimes (happened twice - it was enough to move to Dropbox) I still use

If you use Insync you have the option of converting to DOCX or ODT. Insync has other issues though, my "sourcetreeconfig" is being downloaded as "sourcetreeconfig.xml".

The decision process on Brave Today sounds to be (mainly?) local. You need the filtering processing to be local and visible but you can't win the fight by avoiding all filtering. IMO what makes sense is manually curated sources for you

Git is different from TFS/SVN. I wonder if Bitkeeper and other DCVS solved the user friendliness part. Not every programmer nowadays is a greybeard, nor do they need to be. If Git can be made easier to use without displeasing greybea

They’ll never do it. They just keep making stuff not private so you have to choose between security versus privacy. A well thought system would be able to provide both.
