I feel the same way when I get an email with a Teams link, but I think we're all just going to have to live with the idea that everyone is on different platforms. This just goes to show how badly Microsoft (or other owners before) mess

I don't think you can ignore mobile, particularly wrt notifications. I'm not sure if the app stores are as aggressive in restricting wrapped apps as they used to be.

I'm with you on the frustration with Slack and every month when I see our bill I consider forcing the company to change. My co-founder and I tried moving to Google Chat. We already pay for workspace so why not. What kept us on slack is

The author's context of technology seems to be limited to the idea of software and screens. Let's take a wider view. A pencil is a technology to someone from the 1500s. A watch is a technology to someone from the 1700s. The netwo

I work in neurotech/sleeptech and though I commend @dmvaldman on the project, it falls for some of the common flaws of current sleep medicine/research and some strange decisions in the program itself. Measuring sleep by time is an

Your devices are tracking sleep time, which makes about as much sense as measuring your diet based on how much time you spend chewing. Time in deep sleep is not a direct marker of slow-wave delta power, which is just one of the measures of

There is a tri-lateral(?) relationship between exercise, sleep, diet, and how the three impact mental health. A waste product of exercise is Adenosine. Adenosine build-up leads to increased sleep pressure, and improved Neural Function of Sl

This reads to me as protein first, then veg. American's don't seem to have a protein restriction problem. Look at your average burger, it is mostly meat, a bit of lettuce, and a bunch of low-quality bread. I had a "salad"

When doing stretches, don't forget the opposite side of the equation which is strength. Not the "I'm going to bench 200lbs" type strength, but the musculature that supports movement. It's quite easy to always focus

I'd go a step further and say the ball/puck is not the interesting thing to watch. Imagine if you couldn't see the players, and just saw the puck. Would that be interesting at all? Think about tennis. There is the trope of pe

I'm going to counter that the "you can get a quicker approximate sense with a much quicker glance" is a red herring. Equal if not worse than your argument for analog clocks all being digital under the hood. :)

This makes me wonder what methods of transferring information we may have lost historically that we don't even recognize? Will there be analog clocks in 30 years? It seems somewhat doubtful, particularly if this generation can't r

This looks interesting, but can someone explain to me how this is different from video generators using the previous frames as inputs to expand on the next frame? Is this more than recursive video? If so, how?
