Any reason why they would want to prevent the code from being searchable from external search engines? Software patents..etc.

I agree with this. I used Netflix pretty heavily while I was living in the USA but since moving back to Canada I use the Canadian equivalent much less. I don't seriously consider cancelling because the price is less than $10. However, if th

Those are great numbers for PC gaming. I wonder what the ratio is for playing vs. bought. Todd Howard, the game director at Bethesda Game Studios, has recently claimed that consoles make up about 90% of their overall game sales. If this is

I just finished listening to the Typo episode. It was fantastic and was my first introduction to Bill Hill.

Yeah, it seems to be only possible with registry hacks at the moment.

As am I. I have an old extra C2D machine here currently running Ubuntu that I plan to reformat to Windows 8 (My laptop is my primary Linux machine these days). I'm looking forward to playing with the new dev tools.

I too like the large size and it gave me a positive initial reaction. However, I don't think a slight reduction in size would be detrimental.

I am a Skype user and not a FB user and I have no intentions of ever using the FB product again (I deleted my account around 2 years ago). I wonder how many of those 750 are the same as I.

It's a buggy mess IMO. I'm running 11.04 on recently purchased Lenovo X220 (replaced my 3 year old MBP) and I've had frequent hard locks in X, windowing glitches (windows doing weird things, scroll bars acting up), and issues with cleanly

Wow, ok -- I thought I was crazy for about 40 minutes this morning as I tried launching Skype on 4 of my computers (2 Windows 7 machines, 1 Ubuntu machine, and 1 MacBook Pro). It crashed within seconds on each and every one. It's good to kn

Great post! It introduced me to a few tools I wasn't aware of previously. The main OS on my laptop is Ubuntu so this is very appreciated.

I made the same choice last week after the aluminum bezel on my out of warranty MBP cracked (Wtf!). Nothing in the current Macbook stable meets my criteria. The Pros are all too heavy and the MBA is currently underpowered. The X220 seemed l

This is the issue I am debating. Amazon offers a nice suite of services but the EBS issues are giving me reason to pause.

Exactly -- for me it's all about transcoding and not locking myself into a lossy format. This is why I rip all of my CDs to flac and not AAC/MP3.

Dabbling with Clojure and Haskell at the moment. Also reading some material relating to clisp and Scheme. I can never stick to one thing.
