Exactly. The AD says that the plane can be flown once the part is replaced.

Which is pretty much what happened. The pilot fought the plane into the ocean.

I know what AoA is and yes, the calculation of AoA by itself is simple, but the corrective measure is not. Classic 737s climb via trim, not constant stick inputs. This has changed slightly with the MAX but now you have automated AoA correct

AF447 was an Airbus 330 which does not have a physical stick shaker. It has a "Stall Stall Stall" warning that sounds and was likely drowned out by the other alarms that were filling the cockpit. A330s also have disconnected stick

It's more an issue of Boeing essentially signing off on their own certification as functionally the same type when it is a very different plane. The AOA calculation is also much more complicated than the article explains. There is a sp

Similar to Chicago's clay gas lines from the mid-1800s. Crazy to think that some of that infrastructure is still in place.

I know reporters will say they don't want to us to draw conclusions but honestly, I'll be avoiding the 737Max until this is figured out.

The questions they ask are ridiculous. And you have to use them when trying to do certain things over the phone as well. I know they have fought quite a bit of mileage theft out of a number of countries and they thought this was a good idea

Most utilities are regulated at some level. I am not a PG&E employee but work in the industry. Just about every utility goes through a rate case with the local/county/state governments where they make the arguments for an incr

True, but it started as a high speed/high altitude stall and ended because of poor pilot choices. It was in and out of the coffin corner before the pilots realized what was happening.

I would say PG&E's biggest fault is their maintenance and inspection practices being subpar. Regular line and pole inspections would work wonders to prevent these types of things. It's hard for PG&E to argue against this w

Typically yes. Right now there is a general avoidance of Ukrainian (Crimean and nearby) and Syrian airspace so the flight plans will take that into account, the winds aloft, and the airways available.

Overselling is very common, especially with certain airlines on certain routes. For example, British Airways heavily oversells their LHR-USA flights in business, premium economy, and economy. This often means that business class passengers

Well, the city has done very little to move density forward. They continue to approve buildings that are mostly overpriced, poorly built, studio apartments. The other problem is that the commute pattern in Portland isn't into downtown

Calling Portland "dense" is hysterical. As a Portlander, I can say we are a terrible example of what NIMBYism does to efforts to lower housing costs by adding density. Our city has a decent public transit setup and if the focus wa

Same here. I am actually an AT&T customer and the $10/day for international roaming is nice as a backup but for the most part I just use my wife's Fi data SIM and pay a lot less.

Every post is marked with that disclosure. I just find the content hard to read when it is so blatantly there to try and get you to sign up for one of the cards that happens to be mentioned. The whole post could have been 150 words.

You are not alone with this issue. People are even having a hard time getting stays credited that they booked logged into the correct account (which should credit without issue).

I travel 80% of the year and before the merger, I was splitting my stays between Starwood and Hyatt. Occasionally I would be forced to stay at a Hilton or Marriott because of smaller market coverage. Since the merger, I have barely stayed a
