Hey Apple acts like they don't care about competition but they do. So I really think all of this is good. I find it impossible to believe Tim Cook himself hasn't read these posts.

Hey I may be wrong one day and this comment might not age well but I believe what Apple _is_ doing with AI is crucial. Baking privacy into AI and ML is really necessary and I'm happy someone is thinking about it. I think Apple has a lo

As an avid iPhone user who does want to see Apple succeed. I genuinely feel horrible for Samsung. You can say whatever you want about corporate management at any company but at the bottom of the pole are hard working engineers who put so mu

As a physicist I completely agree. The history is the best part. And it's fun seeing how much scientists had a love/hate relationship with each other. But you also learn why they invented/discovered what they did. Which is im

The antenna is incredibly strong (or would be if it got some sunlight) so it's important to not interfere with communications in deep space that we may want in the future and even sensors on earth. These scientists—I imagine—fell in lo

Other than Swift being a great language this is certainly at the top of the list. If not on a management level then on a developer POV level. Plus in some way they associate Apple with themselves, they become (in some weird way) the Apple o

I don't believe for a second that this was unintentional. The amount of press and mind share that Facebook has received for their "rocketing video efforts that rival YouTube" was totally worth pissing off some ad exec. Very f

I cannot stand to use SC's iOS app. The experience is slow in many respects. Usually when I find hidden features in a design (like I often do with Apple's design) I find that it enhances the experience, while with SC it just bugs

I think Facebook is going to face the same problem that Youtube does. They have a lot of skilled users who can easily read through their code and find a loophole.

I've personally been very impressed with Vulkan. I work with VR a lot and it's ability to streamline work over multiple cores has been great. I think Metal is a little easier to get started with but only because it uses the same b

Udo, that's fair. I agree. I work with Vulkan and Metal all day and sometimes I do wish things were quicker and I had more control over where resources get allocated. I imagine like Iron Man where he can divert resources to his weapons

Think about it from Amazon's perspective. $===$===$ every day of the week. Their AWS devision would be smart not to consider that they are providing their competitor with a good product/platform. And for Netflix, if they are getti

Well I think Apple made certain decisions when they started OS X all those years ago that they must now stick to. Like the http2 discussion from the other day. That will keep technically-minded people around. I still believe that macOS is t

No so the window.Payment[1] isn't in the right place yet—according to Apple—to be ready for their use. You can read more in [2]. So eventually ApplePay.js would (I presume based on their language) disappear to some extent and all brows
