You don't need to store CO2. You need to store the carbon somewhere and get some O2 for free. There's about 2.5g of oxygen per 1g of carbon in carbon dioxide, and carbon takes the lion's share of hydrocarbons' mass, so I

You can easily end up with leftovers from a prescription if stop taking them midway through the course once you're feeling better. Those left overs can then be used to self-medicate. I could speculate on how else it happens, but the im

I’m not sure it’s as true now as it was 20 years ago, but I do remember seeing several campaigns raising awareness of the risks of antibiotic abuse. At any rate, you’re not necessarily contradicting GP. You can both know that antibiotics do

You don't need to know about every disaster, but even just the Therac-25, the Mars Climate Orbiter, or Knight Capital would cover a fairly wide variety of root causes and real-world consequences.

That read to me as deliberately absurd. Aaronson's academic journey was... fairly nonstandard. The circumstances under which he learnt about this are likely to be correspondingly nonstandard. "We all learned about Gödel in our Und

The jury in the Texas case awarded the family around $50M, and the $965M in this case is a bit over 2x that, at $120M per family. So it's definitely a lot higher and I'm curious to see if there's anything that caused that. Mo

A large problem with this whole idea is that there is no one single blue or green involved. iMessage shades the bubbles depending on position, and shows both the blue and green bubbles as darker at the bottom of the screen, and lighter at t

Easiest comparison is the JVM. You can run Java wherever you have a JVM, be it the browser or the server or a desktop application. WASM is basically the moral equivalent of JVM bytecode, so you need the moral equivalent of the JVM to run it
