Sounds nice and virtuous... until you remember there exist gangs of homeless people who mug law-abiding citizens, retreat into the structures that you want defended from demolishing, and cry victim when people want to stop their crimes. Not

Thanks for the insightful comment. I have tried no less than 30 separate approaches for... a bunch of stuff really... and nothing worked. The only thing that actually seems to net me results these days is indeed extremely strict, zero excus

There absolutely is this middle ground, agreed. But personally, I've been very stupid with money. I let my passion for technology and the illusion that I will always be in high demand get the better of me and I am currently paying heav

Same, I am in my 40s and so far have never found a way to not care. I am simply that kind of person and I have screamed and raged against it many times, still couldn't change. If I stop caring I'll become somebody else entirely; i

Do you have any actual script, as in, exact questions to ask during interview, so that executives and/or techies would answer clearly whether their company has financial slack?

Pardon the apparently naive question: are those places not filled with the most horrible vultures on the planet? That is what I would think but it seems like I am horribly wrong. Could you elaborate some more, please?

My takeaway from your comment is that you should not be an employee; you should be a business owner. That way you can give your all and feel great about it because it will also (hopefully) lead to better and directly measurable outcomes.

Never found one. Tried to get back to the game during Dragonflight, geared up 5 classes and tried to do M+ with randoms. 99% rejection rate and I was better geared, did more damage and died less than those who rejected me. WoW became a kind

Hm, I'm not sure that's the case. Some of make's weirdness comes from bash-isms, not shell scripting in particular.

I have not downvoted you but you seem to recommend a very specific and tailor-made product for a specific tech stack. OpenTelemetry is universal. As long as you can send the right network packages to one of a number of ingesting programs, y

Have you tried OpenObserve or SigNoz? Both are trivial to start locally and to self-host, be it in VPS-es or in any Docker-based PaaS.

That section reads like trashing on OTel; basically an annoyed rant. Clear debunking of your text exists and is easy to find f.ex. both OpenObserve and SigNoz can be trivially self-hosted and you will not "be charged extraordinary amou

You are generally correct but I've used https://github.com/openobserve/openobserve for several projects for dev-only complete OTel stack (dashboards included) and I liked it. There are better dashboards out there

Try https://github.com/openobserve/openobserve , it's extremely easy to self-host and it's an all-in-one solution, dashboards included (though admittedly I've seen prettier ones).

https://github.com/openobserve/openobserve , more or less. First time it takes 5 minutes to setup locally, from then on you just run the command in a separate terminal tab (or Docker container, they have an image too).
