I found the phrasing uncomfortably mushy/emotional despite agreeing with the message.

Strange how many of the commenters on the article think the Sony was hacked from a rooted PS3. There's no evidence but I'll assume this was done from a PC until I see some reason why doing it from a PS3 would make it easier (in any way).

MBAs look nice for on the go but I definitely wouldn't give up my 27" imac at home (1 20" attached to the imac too) setup at home. I have a company MBP that I use for whenever i'm out and about. I definitely don't haul it everywhere but i

Having developed apps for years for Facebook, I can vouch for the fact that it is extremely frustrating to be unable to reach anyone regarding issues. I realize this is a user not a developer filing the suit but but there can't be any devel

"We greatly appreciate your patience, understanding and goodwill" - I'm all out of good will for Sony. I already canceled the credit card I had on file with them, hopefully nothing happens with my personal info.

I was thinking the same thing. Also, it's not like it was found on the ground or discovered in some way. 5 $20 bills sitting on 5 different desks left to find where the group meets would have seemed like some sort of test or lesson to me.

CakePHP is nice and easy to learn, easier to deploy. It's not as trendy as RoR but there are a vast amount of easy to integrate PHP resources.

Any data available on the # of crashes in the last month? FF4 is great in every way except the huge memory footprint and the fresh bugs.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to provide names or links here. I'm sure if HN users want to spam we're resourceful enough to figure it out for ourselves and for those of us who don't care to spam it would be helpful to see what we're u

I haven't seen any mentions of this data being sent to Apple. Until that comes out, I'd prefer to turn this tracking off but I don't particularly care about it. It's not like anyone can get access to it without breaking into your computer

I'm not sure if you read through all the details but it looks like Apple has a pretty strong case for Samsung ripping off their look and feel. The look and feel points get very specific and there are quite a lot of them.

What is QoS? I agree that it's not a security risk from an app store perspective but I'd still prefer not to be tracked.

I used to work in NYC but I've been working from home for a couple years now for an agency based in NYC (I live in CT now). I make good money but I've been offered a 20k+ raise and other bonuses to work in the city. Barely considered it.

I second this, I use placehold.it constantly whenever I'm building with html or css. I never use the text feature like the link above, it defaults to showing the image size and I've found that to be more useful because it's a quick referen

Why do all these companies think I want to see the charge per hour for hosting? Maybe per hour would be useful for some people in certain situations but at least list the per month charges too.
