Care to give some actionable feedback rather than just ranting and FUD? I've worked with Go but I would still prefer using Django to start off a new project. The rich set of libraries it provides is only rivaled by Rails among web fram

Just found that rant too! I remember him saying Business Schools are good at making MBAs that help you run a business well. They should do that and leave cultivating entrepreneurship to folks like YC. But I see that argument in line with th

Game is practically unplayable in Firefox Developer Edition on OSX. The first key I press works but then triggers 'Find' and focus shifts away from the game screen to the 'Find' input field. Any workaround?

I guess, it is very important for a good company to learn. Great that they are setting an example. Google and MS fighting with renewed energy is great for our industry and sets a good example.

I loved 8tracks. Got several friends to use it. But about 6 months back the Android app update screwed up the whole experience. Skipping songs, loading problems, sign in not working - I waited for several weeks but the experience was still

Deep learning is pretty old. People like Hinton, LeCun and Bengio have been working in the field for decades. From what I've read, Deep Learning has become popular because there is finally enough computing power to get it done.

You should use Django along with Django Rest Framework[1], which is absolutely amazing at building REST APIs. It lets you use all the goodies that come with Django and provides a very Django-ish way to build APIs. [1] http://www.

I followed this blog for a while and loved it! Strongly recommended for Emacs beginners. Also, one thing beginners miss is how great it is to use an existing configuration to learn. I've personally used @bodil's config from here[1

I've heard very good reviews for the X1 Carbon. The only cons are: 1)weird keyboard layout 2)low-quality mousepad. Except for that the X1 Carbon seems to be a perfect Linux laptop. My friend's running Arch and it's working li

Why not try learning to code. Build a website (based on any small idea you have), learn the whole stack while you are on it, and focus on a specialty like frontend/backend. That shouldn't be very hard to do with all the resources

I've heard lots of people sing praises for Redis source - https://github.com/antirez/redis . A cursory look into the source shows a very well documented code-base. It's one of the top items in my to-read-some-

I can't recommend Slack more. It has an amazing web-app, works perfectly and the basic plan has no limit on users. I've tried both HipChat and Campfire, and I always felt that they were never the primary focus of the companies tha
