CloudWatch has the worst UX of any log management tool I've used. We are using Logentries currently, and it is so easy and intuitive. I just don't get how AWS developers are able to accept the eyesore that is their UX. It's e

I used Lastpass for about 5 years and moved to bitwarden a couple of years back. I never had to turn back again. The browser addons are great, but the mobile app is fantastic, simple, usable and lightweight. It's great to hear that it&

In the last 3 months, we have built the new version of our API in Golang, the old one was in rails. The api serves a mobile app and a web app. Despite taking longer to build, it's a treat to work on Golang. The explicit error handling

Us Hindus also believe that one of those monkeys could fly, namely Hanuman. That doesn't mean it can be possible. A lot of Hindu mythology is pure myth. Do not even try to link it to science. Supporting myth and superstition with pseud

You are overreacting. I agree with the OP. I am a dev. I've designed a few websites before and can find my way around Photoshop or Illustrator. But I would rather just use this tool and generate a logo in 10mins for my side project. De

This is true. The case I encountered was, you cannot install `aws-sam-local` with yarn, you will need npm to do the install.

I've been a very heavy user of React with Flowtype. At some point, one would encounter the limitations of having just a type checker instead of a full-blown statically typed language. Also, the build story of the react ecosystem is not

I think the current approach of announcing the death of `dep` before even having a stable alternative (`vgo`) is deeply flawed. With `dep` the ecosystem finally had something most of the developers agreed on, despite whatever shortcomings i

That's certainly an advantage. But for devs like me, we are used to prog langs providing a set of APIs in the stdlibs, that are officially blessed to be maintained. They might not be the best designed, but they are guaranteed to work f

A couple of commong APIs I can think off the top of my head: - HTTP client - CSV parser/generator I know Hyper and rust-csv are popular. But having an stdlib that's much more feature complete would be great.

The wonderful thing about Rust is that despite being fairly new and rare to get paid for working on it, it is still enticing( to most programmers I've met). The consistent effort to improve it is really paying off. I hope it gets to a

This is true, but using a Distributed system like Spark itself adds a ton of complexity in having to understand and manage it. If one can do something with a set of stateless processes, even if it's more performant, I feel it's a

We faced a similar situation in our project and went with Flow instead. We found a TS + Webpack setup too unreliable. There are couple of popular Webpack loaders (ts-loader and at-loader), and both kept crashing the Node process every other

Yeah, either way it is objects. Traits feel so much more flexible though; and more natural a layer over JS object-orientedness. It also makes it a pain that there are some important semantics missing while using classes in JS. Someitmes Jav

Associated functions and associated constants sound so yum! That's one thing I would love to have in Flowtype. But classes seem to serve that use case well enough.
